Industrial pallet racking isn't one product - it's a family of systems with very different densities, costs and forklift requirements. These are the ones we install most.
Wide Aisle Pallet Racking
The industry workhorse, also called adjustable pallet racking (APR). Wide aisle pallet racking gives direct access to every pallet with standard counterbalance or reach trucks - simple, flexible, and easily reconfigured as stock profiles change.
Narrow Aisle Racking
Squeeze aisles down to around 1.6m and gain up to 50% more pallet positions. Our narrow aisle pallet racking page covers VNA trucks, guidance rails and whether your floor slab is up to it.
Drive-In Racking
Forklifts drive into the rack itself, storing pallets several deep with no aisles between runs. Drive in pallet racking is the densest static system available - ideal for bulk, single-SKU stock.
Double Deep Racking
Two pallets deep from a single aisle using telescopic forks. Double deep pallet racking adds around 30% more positions without the operational change of VNA.
Push Back Racking
Pallets stored 2-6 deep on nested carts that roll forward as the front pallet is picked. Push back pallet racking combines deep-lane density with every lane accessible from the aisle.

Pallet racking design and installation
Good pallet racking design is the difference between a warehouse that flows and one that fights you. Our designers start with your data - pallet sizes and weights, SKU counts, truck types, dock positions - and produce a CAD warehouse racking design showing bay sizes, beam levels, aisle widths and total positions, usually with two or three options at different densities.
Installation is planned from the approved layout, with frames levelled and anchored, beams secured and load information matched to the final configuration. Live-site, access and out-of-hours requirements are agreed in the project programme, and the handover scope is stated in the quotation.
Repairs, reconfiguration and maintenance
We also handle pallet racking repairs and maintenance - replacing impact-damaged uprights, beams and bracing with matching components, and reconfiguring beam levels as your pallet profile changes. Pair the racking with column guards and rack-end barriers and you'll be replacing a lot less of it.
New and used pallet racking
New warehouse racking gives exact sizing, consistent finish and clear manufacturer support. It is often the stronger choice for high-bay, unusual-load or large uniform schemes, and the selected system should be compatible with any existing installation where extension is required.
Used pallet racking can be good value when the system is positively identified, the components suit the design and condition is acceptable. The proposal should specify replacement fixings, missing parts, load information and any redundant-racking purchase or removal separately, rather than promising a fixed percentage saving.

Pallet Racking FAQs
As a guide, standard wide aisle pallet racking starts from around £80-£120 per pallet position supplied and installed, with used systems from around £50-£70. Dense systems like drive-in, push back and narrow aisle cost more per position but store far more in the same floor area. Every project gets a free site survey and itemised pallet racking quote.
It depends on your stock profile and trucks. Many SKUs with fast rotation suits wide aisle or double deep; bulk single-SKU stock suits drive-in or push back; maximum positions in a tight footprint points to narrow aisle. Our designers will model two or three warehouse racking solutions against your data so you can compare density, cost and truck requirements before committing.
Existing or customer-supplied racking can sometimes be erected, dismantled, relocated or reconfigured when the system is identifiable and the components suit the proposed design. A survey is needed before compatibility, condition and any matching stock can be confirmed.
Used racking can be a safe and economical option when the system is identifiable, components are checked for condition and the final configuration has suitable design and load information. Damaged, mixed or modified components should not be assumed suitable simply because they connect.
Standard adjustable pallet racking is routinely installed to 10-12 metres where building height and truck lift capacity allow. The practical limit is usually your forklift's maximum lift height and the floor slab, both of which we check at survey.
Yes. Heavy duty warehouse racking - taller frames, heavier-gauge steel and higher beam ratings - is what most of our industrial clients run, and we size it from your real pallet weights rather than a catalogue default. We also handle pallet racking maintenance: swapping damaged beams and uprights, replacing locking pins, refitting protection and reconfiguring beam levels as your stock profile changes. Keeping a system maintained is far cheaper than letting damage spread, and because we hold common components we can usually turn repairs around quickly.
